Conclusions:

  Tomas Aronsson, International Affairs, VINNOVA
Key issues: This workshop intends to discuss the linkages between policy-academia-industry in less developed countries (LDCs) in Sub Saharan Africa, where there is up-to-date very little documentation on innovation systems. There will be presentations from three countries; Uganda, Tanzania, and Mozambique, where the Swedish aid agency Sida-SAREC supports Faculties of Engineering and Technology. Customarily, policy-academia-industry activities in these countries are not well coordinated and often carried out independently and separated from each other. The objective is to highlight the relationships between these “institutional” spheres.
